Description

Bulk activated carbon is a high-performance adsorbent material used in air filtration systems for the removal of odors, vapors, and unwanted chemical compounds. Due to its high specific surface area, it can effectively retain volatile organic compounds (VOCs) and gases from industrial processes, painting, chemical treatments, and production activities with odor emissions.

It is supplied in 25 kg bags or in 600 kg big bags, making it suitable for both maintenance and recharging of activated carbon cells, as well as for installations in large filtration systems. Bulk activated carbon represents a flexible and cost-effective solution for restoring filtering efficiency, allowing quantities to be adjusted to the actual needs of the system and ensuring operational continuity in emission control.

FAQ

Bulk activated carbon is suitable for spray painting operations where it is necessary to contain vapors. Its configuration can be adapted to a single workstation or integrated into an existing extraction system, helping to maintain a more stable and controlled working air environment.

Bulk activated carbon is designed to capture vapors through activated carbon, with filter elements selected to ensure continuous operation. Multiple filtration stages may be used depending on particle size and contaminant concentration.

For bulk activated carbon, proper sizing depends on capture distance, intake geometry, and system pressure losses. When available, the indicative range corresponds to the airflow required at the capture point; in any case, it is recommended to verify data at the actual emission source and under operating conditions.

Bulk activated carbon requires periodic checks of filters, gaskets, and seals, as well as cleaning or replacing filter elements based on workload. For versions with self-cleaning, it is useful to monitor differential pressure and schedule maintenance before performance decreases.

To properly integrate bulk activated carbon, attention should be paid to positioning relative to the source, sealing connections, and providing access for inspection and maintenance. It is also important to ensure compatibility with company safety procedures and the characteristics of the contaminants being treated.
